Client: Tabulam and Templar Homes for the Aged – Bayswater.
The common areas in the Dementia Wing of this Aged Care facility were exhibiting significant wear and tear to paint finishes and a colour scheme that was looking dated.
The community required not only a professional understanding of paint coatings and application techniques but also the capacity to deliver high levels of planning and liaison sensitive to the specific needs of the residents. Good housekeeping (tools etc), compliant operatives (Police Checks) and friendly dispositions were all necessary in the process.
Furlong Painting began a consultative process to determine the new colour scheme, providing samples for the local community to garner feedback. A painting schedule was developed that gave significant consideration to the residents? timetable. Daily communication with maintenance and nursing staff was critical in coordinating the location and timing of works. Particularly important in a facility of this type was the use of low VOC products to minimize impact on air quality.
