With a number of windows replaced creating a noticeable difference in the appearance of the main facade, water marks on surfaces and the fading of existing paint this building had begun to look old and tired. The common area stairways where showing the effects of the many shifts in and out as is the case with apartment blocks.

Furlong Painting was able to clean surfaces of dirt and freshly renew the previously painted external surfaces including matching the old windows with the replaced windows. The common stairwell areas were repainted including the doors and handrails without disruption to the residents. The use of multiple pieces of access equipment meant access to all elevations was attainable.

This brick veneer 2 storey 1960s built apartment block was in need of a general facelift along with minor repairs and a painting proposal to protect the extensive timber trim and refresh the painted brickwork. While maintenance was a primary driver for the painting works it was important that the owners investments were also protected.

After a competitive tender process, Furlong Painting were engaged to carry out the nominated works.

What was for us an extensive maintenance project, through their planning, attention to detail and considered site management it was a relatively simple process for Furlong Painting.
While the program had its challenges with the need for boom lifts and scaffolds, works were completed with little or no impact on the residents and owners of the property.

In order to retain the modern, contemporary feel that this set of units provides, the residents noted external surfaces beginning to show signs of weathering. Fading paint tones, water marks on render, difficult access areas were some of the components the owners had to contend with.

Furlong Painting was able to clean surfaces of dirt and freshly renew the previously painted external and common stairwell areas with no disruption to the residents. The use of multiple pieces of access equipment meant access to all elevations was attainable. The existence of power lines to one elevation meant a liaison with local power authorities to ensure the appropriate permits for work were granted and safe work practices were employed.
